June 26, Brighton – Stopping the rise of the far-right: Public organising meeting
Join us on Tuesday the 26th of June at 7.30 at the Cowley Club to organize for the Trump visit on the 13th of July and the Tommy Robinson demonstration the following day (14th of July.) This will be a big weekend for the Far Right in the UK, it is up to us to make it an unpleasant one! Come down on the 26th discuss your ideas and share this around. On the 13th of July US president Donald Trump will be holding his first State visit in London. After cancelling his previously scheduled visit due to May being unable to ensure a lack of public demonstrations it is important that we both stand in solidarity with US citizens (and non citizens) as well as deterring Trump from returning the the UK for a second visit. These visits are crucial for governments in order to work one-to-one rather than in crowded multi-states summits. If we allow these to take place unopposed chances are May and Trump will be able to form a stronger alliance. Brighton Anti Fascists will be attending the demonstrations already organized for the day which will be led by queer, migrant and feminist activist groups. This is a day for international solidarity as well as for movements in the UK to come closer together. Whether you are a member of an activist group or an individual join us on the 26th of June meeting. Bring your ideas, politics and lets hash out a plan for the 13th of July and make it a day to remember! On the 14th of July thousands of Fascists and far right lunatics will take to the streets of London to show Trump that he is welcome here and to demand the release of far right leader Tommy Robinson, and to show the British public that the British right wing is growing. It is imperative that these people are opposed. A successful Trump visit followed by an unopposed far-right march will embolden the right wing and enable them to grow. We have witnessed this happen time and time again and have seen that without opposition they grow, attack people and burn out Mosques. With opposition they fade, crumble and wither. A strong mass opposition to fascists takes their strength from them, like Brighton took the strength from the March for England. Join us to organise to oppose the #FreeTommy March and let Tommy hear Brighton dance, sing and shout once more.
