Powerful through resistance – We are not alone! Racism is our reality and significantly shapes our everyday life, whether it is in the media, hospitals, schools, public agencies or the police. There is no neutral position in this system, although we are all affected differently by this racist reality. Again, this year the “Festival against Racism” will celebrate our antiracist struggles, alliances, strategies and will act as an emancipatory force to the racist conditions in Germany and beyond. It will put the perspectives of people who are affected by racist violence at the center of the conversation. This year’s issue will explore the connections among racism, war, capitalism and neocolonialism and the resistance against it. Our goal is to develop strategies that are critical of the system and capitalism. How can antiracist networks further unite and empower us? What can we learn from these networks? What do the wars that are waged globally have to do with racist oppression and repression here in Germany? How can we utilize our different experiences and perspectives in a solidarity way? How can we bolster our communities and support each other? The festival’s program involves an artistic and political stage program, discussion groups, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, theater, screenings, actions and a children’s program. To create this diverse space together politically, we invite you to meet us, get to know us, to understand, to get informed, to debate, to empower each other, to have fun and much more. In this context, we want to develop ideas about resistance in a common and creative way and open up opportunities for action. We invite all interested and solidarity people to participate in the “Festival against Racism”!
