When David went to counter a Mike Cernovich alt-right publicity stunt in NYC in 2018, an NYPD cop broke his leg in two places. He couldn’t work with that injury, so The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund helped David pay his rent & bills while his leg healed. Then the NYPD pig tried to frame David up on phoney assault charges. But surveillance footage clearly showed that the kkkop made the whole thing up.
So then the NYC DA’s office dropped those charges but came up with new charges of “gang assault” against David, despite the lack of evidence and David being the only person charged (a “gang” of one?). Facing a lengthy and expensive legal fight and the potential of nearly four years in prison, David took a non-cooperating plea deal and is now serving an 18-month sentence in Rikers for a crime that happened only in the minds of NYC prosectors. The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund has done what it could by putting enough in David’s commissary to make him as comfortable as possible for the next three months or so, but it doesn’t feel like a victory when a selfless & dedicated comrade is serving time in one of the world’s most brutal & notorious prisons for a fictitious crime.
