I need some advice.

A friend (more actually but this is about a specific thing) is using more and more radical slangs like antifanten (antiphants = elephant + antifa | it makes more sense in german) f. e. even though I don't think he knows all to well what antifa does or means.

The thing is we are planning to play together in a punk-band, but I don't know if I want to play in a so political musical genre with someone that thinks that I, just by being LGBTQ+, am required to discuss my very existence with someone who runs around waving and wearing nazi symbols and repeating their racist and discriminating bullshit in actual political debates.

He says he doesn't have anything against LGBTQ+, muslims and other minorities and I want to believe that, but still makes inappropriate jokes that made multiple people uncomfortable. When questioned about it or asked to stop, he's quite defensive and keeps saying that he is an anarchist and punk and not a nazi.

I don't know anymore and I don't want to loose another friend to this, but just letting him do his stuff doesn't feel right either.

Fuck that, I know it's not right what he is saying, but… idk what to do.

If you think I am at the wrong place with my questions, please feel free to ignore this.

M.
SOURCE: antifainternational.tumblr.com
