October 25, Montréal – How to recognize ecofascists in the wild
By now you’ve probably heard of ecofascism. Naomi Klein is writing about it in The Intercept. Two mass shooters in the last year have referenced principles of ecofascism in their communiques. There are clearly many ways to respond to the climate crisis and some of them are horrifying. Come out to this workshop to learn more about how to recognize ecofascist arguments and symbols, the history of environmentally conscious politics of the far right, and how climate activists of years past have learned to clarify their politics around race and gender in order to push for more liberatory futures for the whole planet. This workshop will consist of a presentation and then a discussion. Come even if you don’t know anything about ecofascism! We’ll go over some of the basics too. Workshop will be in English, but questions in French are welcome.
