NOTTINGHAM REPORTBACK! (courtesy Football Lads & Lasses Against Fascism):

Saturday saw a march take place in Nottingham over a bizarre mish mash of topics – everything from being anti-child abuse (as if the rest of us were pro abusing children or something) to supporting British Army veterans.  While many ordinary people have strong opinions on these subjects, it was clear that Nottingham was an exercise in the far-right trying to hijack the abuse of children to push their own agenda of division and hatred and for that they needed to be opposed.

Among the marchers were senior figures in the DFLA, gleefully taking selfies with convicted violent racists like Phil Curson of the South East Division – previously jailed for stabbing a black man almost to death in a random attack.Marching alongside them in Nottingham were the white supremacist band Whitelaw, a neo-Nazi outfit who were proudly flying their banner.  Other neo-Nazis pictured themselves holding the Werewolf flag of the German SS.  To round off this mess we also had ex-Combat 18 types and a hodge podge of conspiracy lunatics with banners lauding Donald Trump and pushing the online conspiracy theory – Q Anon.

Despite the bold declarations of the above idiots to “end” antifascists, one hapless chap was sent away with a flea in his ear and minus his (sh*t) DFLA hoodie.  Some of the so-called football lads of the SED when confronted either ran away or ran to the cops looking to make a complaint. A few drunken ex-Combat 18 also got a touch before running behind police lines where they spent 15 minutes jumping up and down before retiring to the pub.

The far-right will continue to try and capitalise on these issues to make themselves relevant.  FLAF DID NOT attack any veterans on Saturday, what we did do was confront proven racists and defended a protest from being attacked by yobs. There was plenty of media where we were, who can verify it wasn’t us trying to attack people.

Neo-Nazis attending these marches do nothing to help the cause of British Veterans or Children, if anything it’s a mockery.  What is clear is that the DFLA has been reduced to a rabble. Where once they could mobilise 10k people, now they’ve diminished to a rump who are happy to march around with open fascists. You can’t be ‘anti extremist’ and then pal around with extremists and expect to be taken seriously.  What is also clear is that there are football fans who won’t permit this opportunism and to allow this sort of dirt to take root at our clubs and on our streets.
