March 25 – Locke Street Anti-Fascist Counter-Rally – Hamilton, Ontario
A collection of anti-immigrant and alt-right hate groups – Soldiers of Odin, the Proud Boys, and the III% “Militia” among them – are planning a “Patriot Walk on Locke”. They’re hoping to cast themselves as more than the racist, xenophobic goons they are by capitalizing on public sympathy for Locke Street. We won’t let them! Wherever they go, we go. Join Hamilton Against Fascism and others as we rally to confront and denounce this cynical attempt at re-branding by “western chauvinist”, white supremacist, Islamophobic fascists. We’ll begin the rally at Victoria Park and march to Locke street from there. **Note: these fascist organizations are notorious for identifying anti-fascist activists, and for publishing their faces and personal information online to encourage harassment and intimidation. Because of this, many people at the counter-rally will be wearing masks. This does not indicate connection or affinity with the “Locke Street Riot”, and the fact that it happened does not eliminate the need for people to protect their identities from these hate groups.**
