August 19, Amsterdam – We Are Here and have been here tour II
Dear all,
We would like to invite you to come along with the ‘We Are Here and have been here tour II’. This is an excursion with the bus of Theaterstraat to many of the buildings the refugee collective We Are Here once occupied, stayed, or is still residing. Tour II will take place on the 19th of August from 12 till 3 pm and will follow the journey of the Smaragdgroup from 2014 up till now.The tour will bring us to the following locations: the Vluchtschool, Smaragdplein, de Ark, Wittenberg and the Vluchtmaat. Sami and Masfen from We Are Here will be the tourguides and will tell you all about their fight for rights for refugees in limbo, about the various squatted buildings, the negotiations with property owners, the political game behind the scenes, the living circumstances, the demonstrations, the losses and gains.
Tickets for the tours cost €5. This money will be donated to We Are Here. You can make a reservation by sending an email to: [email protected]
Do not wait to long to make your reservation as there is a limited amount of seats in the bus.
For all tours we gather at het Glazen Huis in the Amstelpark, where we set up a “busstop” as part of the exhibition ‘Going Nomad, organized by Zone2Source.
