The radical right-wing in Germany is getting stronger. This new German radical right is led by mostly educated young men. How can there be such a rise in radical right-wing in 2018 in Germany given its history? What does this radical right-wing movement fight for? The fear of migrants leads more and more Germans to make radical right-wing ideas commonplace. Is history repeating itself? We are in 2018 and the Germans, feeling threatened by the arrival of migrants, are searching for solidarity and Heimat: the feeling of motherland. These are old concepts in a new jacket, laying a fertile ground for this new assertively operating ultra-right movement. Original title: Radicaal Rechtse Voorhoede The driving forces behind the new radical right-wing movement are mostly young men with a university education. They think that during their studies only one story is told: that of the protest generation of 1968 and the left-liberals. With publishing companies, vlogs, café evenings, youth groups and a sophisticated social media policy, radical right-wing ideas blend into the public debate. In Austria, the movement to the right has translated into government participation of the right wing FPÖ; they provide five ministers for the current coalition with the Christian Democrats. And in Germany there is more open talk about stopping all immigrants by putting a fence around Germany. Some Germans are forced to turn to Eastern Europe. For example to Bulgaria where a strict anti-migration policy is being implemented and where private command troops try to stop any migrants at the border.
