July 22, Perth – Protest fascist mouthpieces: Oppose Southern and Molyneux
Far right figures Lauren Southern and Stefan Moyneux are touring Australia in July. Lauren Southern is an obnoxious racist and Islamophobe. She is ‘best’ known for her involvement in attempts to obstruct search-and-rescue boats trying to help shipwrecked migrants in the Mediterranean. She has released a book titled, ‘Barbarians: How Baby Boomers, Immigrants, and Islam Screwed My Generation’. Stefan Molyneux has made a name for himself on the far right advocating for the ‘men’s rights movement’ and for advancing extreme for anti-refugee and anti-Muslim ideas. The normalisation of extreme racist activity is concerning. Our own government abuses refugees in offshore detention camps with the impunity of a bipartisan commitment to ‘deterrence’ of desperate persecuted people, and the neo-Nazi far right is increasingly organised internationally. If anti-racists don’t take a stand, they will be allowed to present themselves as reasonable and concerned citizens, with no-one there to point out the truth- that they are, in fact, nothing more than racist ideologues. United Against Bigotry and Racism (UABRa) is committing to protest their event in Perth. We’re calling on anti-racists to join us.
