re: tall anon / self-defense anon… i learned taekwondo for several years (it’s a very good martial art to learn btw!), and i can tell you it mostly comes down to confidence. the more confident you are in your own strength, the less you’ll have to worry about what your opponent brings to the table, especially if you can discourage them with a few strong hits. learning to break boards is a fun practice in confidence and power. if you let yourself go all the way through, it snaps in half easily.
