77 years ago today, Polish ballerina Franciszka Manheimer-Rosenberg (aka Franciszka Mann) led a rebellion of women in the Auschwitz concentration camp. In our favorite account, Mann stabbed an SS officer in the eye with her high-heeled shoe, then used his pistol to shoot him and another SS officer. The pistol shots signalled other women to attack, tearing the nose off one nazi and scalping another before nazi reinforcements arrived and killed all the rebel women.
NEVER FORGET.
NEVER FORGIVE.
